In Tasmania’s windswept bay, Levi found driftwood – twisted, sculptural. He’d collect it, write stories on the curves. Tourism brought crowds; he preferred solitude.
One stormy day, he found a letter in a log – _Elara’s_ name, a century old. She’d written to her brother, shipwrecked nearby. Levi felt a spark – _what became of her?_
Levi searched records; locals joined in. They found Elara’s tale – she’d survived, built a life. Her letter, meant for her brother, had waited.
People came for the driftwood stories. Levi started crafting them – wood, words, waves. He told Elara’s; people listened tight-lipped.
Years passed. A descendant arrived, wanting _the letter_. Levi gave it; they hugged tight – _you kept her voice_.
Levi kept writing. People asked – _is it true?_ He’d smile – _stories live here_.
The bay’s old pub burned down; Levi rebuilt it – wood, words, memories. People gathered; he’d tell of Elara. _The Letter in the Driftwood_ exhibit toured – wood art, story fragments.
Levi’s great-grandkids played in the bay; he’d say – _listen_. They’d catch whispers – waves, wind, maybe Elara.
