In the Kimberley, Jai followed songlines – paths sung by ancestors. Locals said _they mapped the land_. He’d say _they still do_. Elders taught him _the words hold it_.

Jai led walkabouts – _follow the song_. Tourists struggled; he’d say _listen_. They’d hear birds, wind; he’d say _that’s it_. They’d see rock art; he’d say _they sang it_.

A mining company wanted to blast a peak; Jai opposed – _that’s a song_. They said _it’s just rock_; he’d say _it’s the heartbeat_. Elders backed him – _protect the line_.

The company pulled out; locals said _Jai’s got the law_. A uni student asked about songlines; he’d say _they’re the map_. He’d sing a bit; she’d feel _something_.

Jai’s tours drew eco-tourists – _authentic_. He’d say _it’s the land_. They asked about culture; he’d say _it’s in the steps_. They’d ask about his – he’d smile _I’m following_.

A big cyclone hit; the land shifted. Jai assessed damage – _the song’s still there_. Locals rebuilt; he’d say _it’ll rebalance_.

Years passed; Jai’s walks were famous. He’d say _the song’s strong_. People asked _how you know_; he’d say – _they taught me_.

The local pub had Jai’s photos – songlines, rock art, people. He’d say _they’re the story_. A kid asked _can I walk it?_; he’d say – _learn the song_.
