Bysshe Range’s mist-veiled peaks turned pink as Mia Foster kicked off boots at Canning Stock Route camp. This WA desert tracked deep into her Pitjantjatjara soul.

Mia led tourists to Pulpurru (Wolfram Hill) – red rock whispering Creation stories. “Listen.” Didgeridoo notes merged with wind. She showed carvings: kangoo, goanna.

Dinner campfire, kids asked “How dark?” Mia pointed skyward – constellations mapped by emu ancestors. Elders chuckled sharing Tjakalpa (Dreaming tracks).

Next dawn, convoy trekked to Serpent’s Rest. Mia spoke water protocols – ancient soakages. “Respect.” At dusk, she danced with girls under Milky Way.

Canning’s old wells needed work. Mia’s crew fixed pipes as corellas flew circuits. “Good tucker country.” Night brought yarning; station tales, bush medicine.

Mia guided a sunset J-turn at Duerdin Depot. “Photo, quick!” Dust swirls framed horseshoe bends.

Rainstorm hit; camp bunked tight. Next day, flood-wildflowers blomed – budding daisies thick as Lawrences’s scrub. “Mother country loves,” Mia smiled.
