Matt Brown, one of the original stars of the Discovery series, has died at the age of 42.

According to his family, Matt was found in a Washington river after a search that lasted several days. His younger brother Noah helped search for him and was there when the body was recovered.

Viewers watched Matt grow up on screen as part of the Brown family’s off-grid lifestyle, making him one of the most recognizable faces from the show’s early years.

After leaving the series in 2019, he focused on his recovery journey and shared updates about his life through YouTube.
